Fear of ghosts/spirits scared im going crazy!

So I have recently developed a fear of the supernatural. I dont believe in an afterlife but my friend recently told me they feel the presence of spirits and see them and such and now Im scared of it happening to me even though I dont deep down believe in them. To make matters worse I googled (stupid me) and read about how fear of ghosts can be linked to physcosis and schizophrenia and such which are big fears of mine and all in all right now im absolutely terrified! Please can anyone help me out?

Pansa, it's like being told not to think about the pink elephant. You heard about something that has a bothersome effect on you and now you can't stop thinking about it. I wouldn't worry too much about it, as I think this sort of thing happens to us all. As people with anxiety, we just tend to put more weight on something like this.
