Ok, I was given 20. I understand what you mean, I have crohns and I don't want anything messing with my remission.
So you have actual heartburn? My doc put me on it because he thinks I may have that silent reflux kind that makes my throat all phlemmy and hard to swallow my food a lot of the time.

It was initially a lump feeling in my throat and a metallic taste in my mouth, then it turned into heartburn constant burping and an empty feeling in my stomach, even when full.

It's a brilliant help for acid reflux. Speaking personally, because it reduced my acid reflux and churning stomach, it helped ease my anxiety quite a lot. Side effect I got was that valium took slightly longer to work, because I was producing less stomach acid. IBS improved generally with it, too.

If you look up the side effects of vitamin C, you'd never take it

It is great for acid reflux. I take 20mg each evening and I get no side effects from it. as soon as I miss a dose I find my reflux is back tho so I don't recommend missing doses.

Greatly with my IBS-D. My aunt takes omeprazole and notices no change to her IBS-C except that she feels full for longer after eating.
