    From Sertraline to Mirtazapine

After 2 months on Sert and all the side effects that went with it, I have now been prescribed Mirt. I am somewhat worried as Dr says just to stop Sert ( have none left anyway) and start Mirt. Also worried about weight gain and not sure how long before bedtime to take it. Any help would be appreciated. I really need this one to work!!! Thanks.

    Hi
I've been on mirt for about 10 weeks.I take it about an hour before I go to bed,and sleep like a log

Its also pulled me out of one of the worst depressive episodes of my life.
I've actually lost weight while being on it,so you don't have to gain if you eat healthy.

Aw thanks Arpilmoon, it is so good of you to reply so promptly and I am glad that you are doing well on this med. I tried really hard with the Sert and persevered as long as I could but was going mad with insomnia even with Zopiclone. Hoping that I will get a nights sleep with this one and that it helps with my depression and anxiety ....with any luck my obsessive thoughts too. Having short course of counselling too!!
    Thank you again 💐💐💐💐

Just started on 15mgm. I was on Sert 50 mg then upped to 100mg then back to 50....a bit of a roller coaster, but would have put up with it if they were working, but a bit of a bummer when I was still having major panic attacks in the middle of the night! 😢Take care and no doubt will catch up again,

    Re: From Sertraline to Mirtazapine

If you're on the lower dose to start with,15ml,that will actually make you sleepier, so you may need to take it just before you go to bed,as you will probably feel it knocking you out.you may feel more tired in the morning on the lower dose too.
The sleepiness was less on the 30ml.
    Good. Luck!
