    ibs or more sinister?

    hi everyone. im really scared!!

im worried i have bowel/stomach cancer or something evil like a tumour! my symptoms have been on and off for months but just this past week ive felt so awful like they have gotten alot worse!
    they include:

lose bowel moments (sorry!) even watery today!
back pains, especially in my lower back
very nauseas, my stomach feels very heavy
no appetite at all, don't even want to look at food but feel empty
abdominal pains, around stomach and both sides

The only thing i havent noticed is blood but i feel like thats the next stage! Im going to the docs today but im scared he will just palm me off and seeing all the things in the news about young people getting missed for bowel cancer scares me to death! Im hoping its ibs or just a bug but who knows! Has anyone had anything similar?

    Re: ibs or more sinister?

I am 30 and last year and late 2012 I had bad abdominal pain, struggling to go to the loo at times, I was at the GP from late 2012 three times in the space of six weeks before one of the GPs sent me for an abdominal ultrasound, checking my kidneys as well this was clear, In 2013 I think I was at the GP every two weeks with various worries not just bowel cancer. I also had a few examinations of my abdominal being felt by the GP, specialist and the finger up backside.

In 2013 I was sent to see a specialist I asked for a referred because I was still in pain, the specialist was very nice to reassurance myself she sent me for a CT scan and the camera up backside, I was told it was clear but a possibly of a small pouch on the bowel had been seen, so I was sent for a MRI scan to be 100% and late last year a nuclear scan, no pouches was seen, the pouch me and my parents were told be the specialist earlier this year 2% of the population has this problem, which may or may not need keyhole.

This all started with reading plenty of articles about young people being with bowel cancer late (stage 2-4) also my Dad since he reach the age of bowel poop screening in 2012 I read the information sheet which came with it, this year I was not told when my Dad was having his poop tested, and his test came back fine in 2014 and 2012,

A thread I can relate to, I keep having abdomen pain although I say pain discomfort would be a more appropiate description. Also keep getting nausea on and off and just not feeling real good and having tired spells, so fed up. My bowel movememts havent been that bad although every morning I wake up iam bursting to use the toilet. I dont have any discomfort while asleep but as soon as I wake up my stomach is full of butterflies worrying about it, then the discomfort follows. I have also developed a new sympton where I get pains in the side of my head. After my constant pestering the doctor has booked me in for a ultrasound on my abdomen, hoping it will come back negative and piece of mind will help fid me of theses symptons. What causes these symptons, IBS or anxiety?
