Has anyone ever taken Rhodiola ("Rhodiola Rosea" or "R. Rosea").

I have a preference for natural remedies & am always willing to try them before "hitting the hard stuff". I recently came off fluoxetine as I have been on it 2 years & needed a break. I usually take it to see me through the dark months of winter & it helps suppress PMT.

Trouble is, I am again having difficulties with suffocating bouts of anger due to my PMT. My hormones also affect my ability to think & I get depressed/emotional for a week to 10 days a month. I'd like to find an alternative to fluoxetine as I don't like to rely on it.

I am wondering if anyone has ever taken Rhodiola (also known as "Rhodiola Rosea" or "R. Rosea").

From what I have been reading (early days as I haven't heard of this before tonight) taking this for a week or two before my period might be extremely beneficial.

I have been trying to establish how quickly it works.

Also I have read that some people find it suppresses their appetite too which would have benefits for me as another symptom I suffer from is over eating.

If anyone has any input I'd be grateful.
