    Propranolol and antihistamine

This may be a silly question but, is it safe to take antihistamines whilst on Propranolol.

I'm on 40mg twice a day for anxiety and Hayfever is driving me crazy. Itchy eyes, nose, sneezing drowsy etc....

Just wondered if they're safe to use together?

    Thanks.

Not 100% sure myself but you could ask your local pharmacist. He/she will know.

As AB said, it's best to check with your pharmacist/GP. If it's really bad and you need an answer sooner, the information leaflet with the propranolol should give you a guide and there's also an interaction checker which I use which comes with the Medscape app. It may also be on their website. I've just checked propranolol and cetirizine and it didn't show any interactions.

    Hope that helps
