'Liking' great posts

Hey, sorry if this has already been covered, but I wondered if there is a function to be able to like / thumbs-up another person's post? I've already seen some great information and very helpful replies and it would be fantastic to show my appreciation in some way. It would also help to highlight the people on the forum who do the best work... Small reward for the efforts they make, i know, but it would at least be something to indicate that their work is not going unnoticed!

Click on "rate thread" and choose the rating from there

I don't think that will do what I was asking about... I want to rate an individual post - i.e. if I start a thread and somebody gives a really helpful answer, I thought it would be great to give that reply / person a thumbs-up or 'like'... Then that user will have a 'likes received' or some such thing on their profile / signature, so it is clear how helpful they have been

Ok sorry I misunderstood. No you can't rate individual posts.

We used to have a way of rating members but had to remove it

Oh ok, that's a shame... Is it not an add-on that could be enabled? There are so many times where I go to click the 'like' button at the bottom of someone's post and then remember that I can't :(

It's quite a regular feature on most forum templates, so i'd be surprised if you can't have it... Unless it wasn't used for a reason, of course?

There are add-ons but we are in the process of moving to a new look website so may change the forum - we are not sure yet but watch this space

Does this mean those of us with tablets will be able to use chat without java too? Do you need any donations towards new forum by the way?

Not yet ISB, this is a new forum rather than a new chat room..... we are yet to find a suitable chat room
