    2 weeks after stopping

Well I thought I would update after 2 weeks of no Prozac. Its not easy that's for sure. The first few days were pretty good. But between then and today it has been hell. You feel moody, angry even, headaches, neck ache, blurry vision, tiredness, mild anxiety, gastritis mucous in throat. Just a fun time to be honest. However after some research I read that this is pretty normal due to the long half life of Prozac. I think that my blood concentration will be half of that 2 weeks ago and it seems to take a few weeks to stabilise without any medication. I am led to believe that this does pass with time but it is very difficult. It is tempting to start again but that would be at this stage the easy way out, I want off and if I need medication for anxiety later then I will but not yet, this feels like an induced medication anxiety from withdrawal so keep going. Any advice or is this normal.

Been there, still there I suppose. I expect it takes a while for your brain chemistry to balance itself out!

I did a slow taper off Fluoxetine and didn't notice any disruption at all. However I'm back on it again (day 3 after a 3 month break) as a number of stressful incidents and illnesses just sent my GAD spiralling and I wasn't prepared to get poorly again as I know how good life can be.

I am currently reducing ftom maximum dose of 3 per day. This has taken months but am now on 1 tablet every other day, starting my 3rd week on every other day. When do I stop completely? ! I have been on various meds since 1998 so this is a big thing for me !
