I took the whole extra 20mg capsule (probably a mistake) and have been on 40 mg for 9 days now. Two side effects I've noticed are my tinnitus has ramped up even more and I've got really jumpy nerves, like restless legs but all over. Will this fade?????

I went straight back on 40mg! I didn't even go to the Dr. I had some left and just thought I would start them again. It was a big mistake!
I would say if you have time go back to the first few posts of this thread. The timetable is so great to reassure you that what you are feeling is normal.
For me I had a big anxiety attack and panicked I was getting really ill again. Of course I made myself really ill again with the panic and the meds.
I honestly think I'm carrying the trauma of how ill I was before.
Oh the side effects of the meds are horrific. As one got better another one appeared but then they would lift as the afternoon came round and I would go to bed feeling like one person and wake up at 3am feeling completely different.
Give yourself time. Sounds as though you are very early days.
Keep us updated with how you are doing.

Restlessness, jumpy, jittery was all something I experienced at the beginning with 40mg. I would wake with a start and my body felt like it was vibrating and my teeth gritted.
I was not a pleasant person to wake up next to 😂
The side effects didn't disappear quickly but just very gradually.

Thankyou 😊 Why do you think it was a big mistake to go back on 40? Was it because the side effects were so bad? How long were you off before you restarted?
I'll have a read through the thread today 😊

Re: A timetable for recovery on Fluoxetine / prozac

I had stopped taking them 12 weeks earlier but had been slowly reducing my dose.
It was a mistake because I should have started on a much lower dose and worked back up to 40. I think I would have still got the side effects but probably not as severe and quick.
I really only had a small anxiety attack but like I said it just bought back all the terrible memories of when I had a breakdown.
I didn't know all the stuff I do now about the medication and it's helped to have some idea of what it does and how. Knowledge makes me feel a bit more in control.
The best advice I can give is that it's not a straight path to feeling better. It's all over the bloody place so don't feel you aren't moving forward when you have a bad day.

The restlessness is still with me today. I guess I'm worried if I keep on with this dose this feeling will get worse.

It may do and its a horrible feeling but you will be able to tell yourself it's the medication and it will get better. It helped me so much knowing that the way I was feeling was in part due to the medication and lots of other people had felt the same and got better.

I know it will pass. I used to say the same thing every day.. I'm going to feel like this forever and I'm never going to get better.
But I always have and I did this time too.
You will find yourself again I promise.
