    My first personal training session...

So some of you may have seen my previous thread...after weeks of humming and harring I finally went back to the gym and then got myself a personal trainer...

Today was the first session and I think it went quite well!

I was feeling really lousy this morning because I'd done 2 13hr days at work, followed by a sleepless night doubting everything about myself and my life....but I went (whereas if it was just a normal gym session I wouldn't have), and I feel good!

The initial 10mins were weird and hard because he had me in front of a mirror doing squats which I've never done...so I feel I looked like a tool....but I persisted and went with it...then the rest of the session I felt a lot more comfortable using equipment I was happier with.

Yes he is going to push me hard...but its what I need....maybe it'll work better than cbt!

A special thanks must go out to my nmp buddies from chat who encouraged me and nagged me to make the leap (you all know who you are!)....and a special thanks to wabbit...because for just being her and going through what she has...I was inspired and motivated!

Here's to my next gym session tomorrow and personal training session next Monday!

    Happy Tuesday Everyone

    X

    Well done !

Ive been a member of virgin active for years and watched plenty of people get put through their paces with a personal trainer and it doesnt look easy. All credit to you for going through with that.

Aw Jac, that's a lovely sentiment. Thank you.

I'm so glad that you did it and well done on going along . I'm glad it gave you that motivation to go this morning. I really hope this works for you .

I know what you mean about exercising in front of mirrors, I really don't need to see what I look like when I'm exercising but it does help to make sure you have the techniques right, I suppose (can you tell I'm trying to convince myself here).

    What can I say.

You already know how proud of you I am for organising the personal trainer in the first place.

Can't imagine the horror of having to excercise in front of a mirror but great that you are getting all the correct training for the equipment.

Pleased that you ended up actually enjoying that, that is a huge bonus.

Now I will have to find something else to nag you about lol
