    Sinus Bradycardia... IS THIS DANGEROUS??

    Hi guys,

I previously posted on here asking about panic attacks and increasing ectopic beats, or at least what I felt I thought were ectopics.
After many visits to hospital and the doctors I'm eventually getting a 24 hour monitor to decipher what they actually are.

They only happen 3-4 times a day (the ones I can feel anyway), however usually if I've been out drinking the night before it can send me into a full episode of panic and ectopic beats every 2-3 beats for around 5-10 minutes depending on how long it takes to calm myself down. I get very dizzy and feel like I'm going to pass out (although I've never blacked out) and feel like I really need to flea the situation I'm in. My first question is... Does this sound like panic, or something more sinister? My doctor is a specialist in cardiology and he's certain the 24 hour monitor won't show any cause for concern?

Also, interestingly, every time I go to the doctors for routine ecg and bp, my heart rate is never below 60 and bp around 140. I've had a 24 hour bp monitor and it came back spot on.

However, I've got an app that can measure heart rate and my waking heart rate is between 48-52 then when I get up and do something it goes up to around 58. Walking around or feeling anxious it can go up to 70 odd, but it returns back to 55ish very quickly. Is this the sign of a healthy heart? Or a problem? I done competitive boxing for 9 years raining vigorously 4 times a week, that could have something to do with it... But I've been out of shape for around 2-3 years now and I've been told a fit resting heart rate doesn't usually stay low once you stop training??

    Any ideas guys? Cheers

    I forgot to mention..
When I feel this skipped beat sensation it's like a hollow feeling in the chest. Almost as if a horse is galloping and then it jumps the fence, you're waiting for it to come back down and start galloping again ha!

However, at times I feel my pulse and I get a very quick 'double beat' but don't feel any of the chest sensations at all!?

    What is this??
    Cheers

Have the doctors actually diagnosed you with this condition? It sounds like they have been doing all the appropriate tests to determine if something is wrong, and IF there is they are they best ones to explain the implications and treatment.

I doubt your heart monitor app is as accurate as the 24hr monitor you had to wear...so I'd go with those results...

Your heart rate will change depending on your level of activity, stop trying to focus on it, and keep in communication with the docs.

    Hi,

The doctors diagnosed with SLIGHT bradycardia 58bpm and said it was nothing to worry about. This is because I'd had a major episode of panic and ectopics when I was hungover and by the time I got to the hospital and had another ECG I was absolutely exhausted so I physically couldn't feel anxious about being there! Therefore, my heart rate was probably normal (58ish).

Forgot to mention I've had countless ECG's and the 'ectopics' have actually been caught whilst being monitored in an ambulance. They said they were normal beats but just slightly earlier and probably down to adrenaline/anxiety. Apparently ectopics appear completely different from a normal beat on an ecg.
I've also had an Echo and Blood work done which all came back normal... and had a resting ECG read by a cardiologist which was normal (but I wasn't feeling any of the sensations or anxiety at the time).
