    Panic attack in night heartrate

Hi all, I woke at 2.30 this morning and could feel my heart thumping extremely fast and hard in my chest and throat I was sweating and shaking, I have suffered panic attacks before but never felt my heart beating so fast and hard thumping in chest and neck it was almost like my heart was fluttering where beating so fast and couldn't keep up if that makes sense has anyone else experienced this during a panic attack?

    Yes.

It probably feels worse at night because you're lying there in the dark and quiet.

    Hello Mrs!

I regularly get this. Infact 80% of my attacks are now before bed or during sleep. A thumping heart and chest pain (or whatever our body decides is flavour of the month). When you are sleeping you're much more susceptible to an attack as you'll be caught off guard with nothing else to distract you.

I always get out of bed, drink something and read a light hearted book out loud for 20 mins. Try it
