what time of day is the worst for you?
what time of day is the worst for you?
Early hours are a pain, 2 a.m. why is that, why not ,3,4,5, or 1a.m. still getting used to it now so took a night job at asda. lol.
Lorraine i also find 2 am horrible.
I used to work nights in a nursing home and strangely if anyone died it used to be between 2am and 3am.
We used to call it the witching hour.
Take care

First thing in the morning when I wake is my worst time. I think of the long, long day ahead of me and of all the fear and unhappiness I am going to experience in that time. Also it is the time that I think of tasks I have to do in the hours ahead - doctor appointments, do errands for my parents, anything that means getting into the car and doing tasks that I can't avoid.
Also I hate the thought of the daytime ahead as the world is all busy, busy, busy. I soak up the unending activity of the world around me like a sponge and it makes me feel burdened and overwhelmed.
Lastly I hate the daylight, especially summer days. The brightness makes me feel disorientated and afraid and unsafe. I keep the curtains and blinds in my house closed during the day as far as possible as I feel safer in darkness.
I usuallly sleep all day and stay up all night when I don't have things that I have to do during day hours. The early AM hours are lonely but I like the quietness and stillness of the world at that time.

I have voted for first thing in the morning, but even though that is true, it can happen to me anytime of the day. xx

It takes a minute to get anxiety, but a lifetime to get rid of it!!!
For me at the moment it is first thing when I wake...but that could be anytime from 3am onwards....I never used to feel any particular time in the day was worse than the other, but lately early mornings the worst.

Middle of the night. My "specialty" is to wake up in a startle and be in full battle mode. Annoying because my system has, in essence, gone ahead without me so I cannot intervene with logic or breathing exercises. Sneaky system.
Occasionally I'll feel an attack coming on at other times but those are very rare anymore and rarely come to full strength. Mainly, these days, I'm dealing with GAD...constant, low-grade rather than the amazingly strong panic attacks of a year ago.
This is good, it's progress but I've come to think I'd rather have 'em try one on when I'm awake and can react properly. Sometimes I think my brain is just being sneaky and is doing this because it can't pull one on me when I'm awake anymore.

There should be an option for "any time". Some days I can alternate between feeling bad and OK a number of times. There are the times when you're still half asleep and feel totally relaxed, then you wake up/get up and are suddenly anxious for no apparent reason.
I think for me it's probably the heat in summer as much as the light. I think when it's hot and you get a bit hot and sweaty my brain sees that as a symptom of anxiety/panic and makes me more anxious. Same goes for other things like increased heart rate, sometimes exercise can do the same.
