Cardiologist didn't give me stress ttest

Hello I'm a 25 year old athlete.
I had my first panic attack at the gym thought it was a heart attack.
my caridologist just gave me a regular ecg and said i was fine.

my anxieties come from when my heart gets to high levels from excercise
i just had another panic attack playing hockey

what os a stress test and what does it prove? why does my cardiologist not give me a stress test?

They would do a stress test IF they found anything wrong on the ecg..... obviously they didn't so they wouldn't refer you for the stress test
