    Just need advice

Hi everyone. Was given diazepam 3weeks ago at 5mg. Been taken it daily but breaking tablet into 4 so taking quarter 4times. Sometimes only took three quarters. Only taken 3quaters the last 3 days as I want to come off them. Sure it's just anxiety, but I feel like iv got a huge addiction issue and I'm in for a rough time. Like I say pritty sure it's just me as usual panicking. Just wondered if any one had advice. Thanks

I don't think you would be addicted in that short a space of time and on such a low dose to be honest.

Well anything is possible. I think it is unlikely you are addicted after only 3 weeks on a low dose. I mean taking 1.25mg diazepam at a time is such a small dose it is almost homeopathic really.

However benzos are known to cause increased anxiety when you stop taking them. So if you are struggling to stop using it then maybe ask the GP for some 2mg tablets so you can taper off slowly, because you can cut those in half to make 1mg.
