I hope that you have a good weekend. Take care.

Hi Teresa
I'm still in two minds to be honest, I know I need to do something though.
I literally did not sleep a wink last night and felt terrible today, I have tremors from the sleep deprivation and I'm just so scared an SSRI like Escitalopram or Sertraline will make my, already horrendous, insomnia worse.
Having said that, it's encouraging to hear that you have started sleeping well Mavis, have you had insomnia in the past?
So are you taking the plunge on Monday then Teresa?
Hi Jitter
Well I am supposed to be lol, but I've got to have some tests at the hospital on Monday and I am spending the afternoon in the day care unit, I have to be sedated too.. So I'm not sure whether to or not, may have to wait til Tuesday ..
I know it seems like I'm putting it off, and I suppose there is never a good time to start, just got to go for it, but a side from all that, I'm still unsure!
MV, when you first started on the meds did they make you feel a bit dizzy or spaced out? I know everyone is different but I just wondered. Also I've lost the info that comes with the Escitalopram and I'm not sure if you can take them with or without food??
Teresa
Hi Teresa
All the best with your hospital appointments.
No, I didn't / don't feel spaced out with the medication. I take it after eating in the evening. If you ask in a pharmacy they should be able to give you the fact sheet for the escitalopram.
Hi Jitter I had not been sleeping at all well since anxiety first came into my life. Insomnia is just awful, I can't function without sleep. I have started to sleep noticeably better over the past week. I hope that things improve for you soon.
All the best.
Thanks Mavis!
Well after another sleepless night last night, I've bitten the bullet and took half my dose of Sertraline! Going to be a long road and not looking forward to the side effects but something had to give!
Just dropping in to wish you all the best Jitter .
6 weeks today, since I started. A very definite improvement in my sleeping pattern, especially in the last week or so.
Am cautiously optimistic that the meds are starting to take effect, fingers crossed.
Will just keep on, keeping on.
Thanks Mavis, so pleased you're sleeping now. Sounds like you have really turned a corner.
Still not sleeping but nausea no where near as bad as I thought. Getting pretty hot and anxiety still very high but that might be due to the insomnia.
On day 3 at the moment. Would love to fast forward a month and hope I'll be in a better place.
Thanks Jitter I really appreciate that.
I hope things improve for you, very soon, fingers crossed. All the best
Hope that you are doing okay Jitter.
Hope that things went well for you at the hospital Teresa.
Nothing much to say really for me. My sleep has improved so much, especially over the past week. I think I'm feeling a bit better, overall.
I was out walking yesterday, and it was a lovely day, so that helped.
All the best to anyone starting out, or who has just been prescribed meds, and comes across this forum. It's a tough time, but this forum has helped me, for sure.
