fluxotine- dont just come off it!

I have been on fluxotine since i was 16 and although i had bad side effects to begin with it helped me a lot to control my anxiety and ocd. However about 6 months a go I went through a difficult time and stopped taking it as i was so stressed i just didnt do anything including my medication, i became worse and am now back on fluxotine for about 8 week however i still had side effects such as being hormonal, paranoid and diarrhoea. Just really wanted to post this message so people dont do the same as i did if you come of fluxotine make sure you speak to a doctor and reduce it slowly

Hello stephy. Sorry to hear you've been thro a bad time..... It is true that coming off the meds too quickly will have adverse affects, different reactions in different people, but stopping abruptly is definitely risky.
As you rightly say, Gradually coming off is definitely the key.
I always take about 2 months or more to come off it. I've been on and off fluoxetine for many years... Trying to take a break each summer. It seems to more for more which is good.
How r u dong t the moment? I wondered if you may be having some therapy or other general support perhaps to help you through your issues as well?
