New Side Effects

I've been taking my citalopram for just over two weeks and today I was sat down when my heart started suddenly thumping, it only last a few moments but it did startle me.

I read that this can be a side effect, but can you get a side effect a few weeks after you take the medication or do you only get them when you first take them?

Usually they wind down as you continue to take them, it was probably just a one off and nothing to worry about
