    I'd say yes...

IBS can come and go, and I would think if it was serious it wouldn't 'get better' then get worse it would just get worse.

    It could well be IBS.
Or it could be a food intolerance.
Did you feel less anxious on the days when things were back to normal? Maybe relieved that your test results were all fine? Has something triggered your anxiety again before the cramps etc started?

Might be worth keeping a food diary to see if it's something you're eating.
If it carries on, might be worth going back to your GP and asking for a faecal calprotectin stool test to look for signs of inflammation.

It would help if you answered my questions - that way, I could make some suggestions.

    Hi

Didn't realise I hadn't answered them. So sorry. In such a state. Yes definitely felt relieved when symptoms seemed too settle. Hearing Linda Bellingham's son say she had bloods and stool samples that were normal and her bowel cancer was missed sent me into spiral

    I understand completely.
I refuse to read anything about Lynda Bellingham, for the same reason.

I have Crohn's and it was missed initially by my GP - because my blood tests were all normal.
In fact, my blood tests are always normal, so I have learnt to go by how I feel.

If your symptoms come and go, and you can see a pattern that ties in with your emotions (anxiety levels etc), I would be reassured that it's nothing sinister.
If you are still concerned, go back to your GP and ask whether there are other tests she could do or refer you for.xxx
