Anyone had a mammo and ultrasound and everything was okay?

I know reasurrance seeking is not recommended for H/A sufferers but I do need support here atm as I have my appointment at the breast clinic coming up for a mammo and ultrasound and I just need positive stories from women who have been through it and got good results like just a cyst or something like that.

Anyone had a biopsy?

Like probably most women on the planet, I had a mammo and then a call back for an ultrasound to further check out my right breast. Turned out to be nothing--the "shadow" on the mammo was actually a benign skin lesion on my breast that the mammo was picking up. This was in the day of older non-digital machines.

My sisters have had three biopsies between them. All were benign. My hairdresser had a biopsy following a mammo and ultrasound a few years back--all fine.

I could go on but you get the drift--it's scary but 80% of lumps are benign, according to the Cancer Society.

I had a lump in my breast and had mammo and ultrasound, all fine

I had it this year, went to the clinic about a lump in one breast and they were more concerned about the mammograms on the other one. Turns out I had a fatty lump on the one I was concerned about and the other was bad photography. Was very reassured to know that they were both clear. Try not to worry, the photographs can be distorted. At least they're being thorough.

I've got an appointment for the mammo on the 26th and for the ultrasound on the 2nd. With my fear of radiation I am tempted just to have the ultrasound now!

There is NO reason to fear radiation from a mammo.

God, I've been xrayed, ct-scanned, and mammo'd for MANY years--not to mention having actual radiation treatments--and I'm still here.

I wish I was more like you about this! How many years is many?

What age did you start your mammograms if you don't mind me asking? Do you have them annually too or every 3 years like we do

I'm almost 58, and I've had yearly ct-scans and /or chest x-rays from age 28 to my early 40's.

I started having mammos in my late 40's. I get them every two years.

Believe when I tell you you don't have to worry about radiation with the teensy doses you're getting from a mammo.
