Personal - post coital bleeding or period? Sorry tmi

51, and obviously going through the "change" but still having about 4 or 5 periods a year. The last one was 22 September, so two months ago. On Thursday, after sex, I noticed some bleeding - about a teaspoon of bright red blood. It changed to a dark brown dribble (the colour my periods have been recently) that evening, and the next day yet another "dribble." A bit more on Sunday, then yesterday, Monday, nothing. This afternoon it happened again. Just a bit more than spotting but not the heavy flow I used to have.

As my periods used to be SO heavy, I have noticed them getting lighter in flow, but darker in colour over the last year or so. I know I have a fibroid, and my last smear was only about a year ago. As the bleeding this time has stopped and started, and not very heavy at all, should I be worried? Can sex "kick-start" a period if it might be due (but who knows?) OR is this worrying unexpected bleeding? I just don't know but I am worried sick.

I will, of course go to the doctor, but until I can, I am fearing the worst.

Any advice or similar experiences would be so appreciated.

Please don't fear the worst, although I know it's hard not to.

Menopause can cause all kinds of wonky things to happen, including the thinning of our vaginal walls because our estrogen levels are going down. When I was going through menopause I remember bleeding after a pap test for a day or so.

I would say that canbud is correct, the change can cause chaos and you need lots of lube, I would say don't worry I'm sure its the menopausal period type thing
