    ST Johns Wort to Escitalopram

    Hi all,

Been taking SJW for only a week and a half. Had 15 tablets in total.
Need to go back onto Escitalopram again due to extreme anxiety and was wondering if there needs to be a few days gap before switching.
I know with long term use of SJW it's recommended a week break.

    Anyone done this switch before?

    Thank you

SJW stays in your body for about a week, so I would definitely wait a few days before starting Escitalopram. You can also ask your pharmacist if you want to be on the safe side.

Hi - thanks for the replies. Saw the GP this morning and he says I haven't been on the SJW long enough. I'm fine to go ahead with the esc as far as he is concerned.
