Thread: ASMR to cope with panic.

Cool ASMR to cope with panic.

I have previously mentioned ASMR in a post but I think it needs wider recognition.

ASRM (Autonomous sensory meridian response) is a subculture of videos on youtube. These videos seek to relax you and give you "tingles" such as you would get when having a massage. They use softly spoken reassuring words and certain sounds to relax you. I have found these videos so amazing when trying to cope with panic attacks and general anxiety! They provide you with a brilliant distraction and really can take you somewhere else.
The videos can take the form of any scenario imaginable! For example popular ones include cranial nerve exams and hair cutting role plays! It might seem a little stupid you sitting there with headphones on and someone asking what hair cut you want, but I honestly find it works. Once you get past that you might find it helpful. If not that's also ok. If it can help just one person then that is brilliant!

I personally listen while going to sleep so my brain doesn't go into overdrive. I think they work a similar way to those who sleep with white noise as well.

    My favorites include:

    For getting to sleep:

Does anyone else have any weird ways of coping? I want to know!

    LOVE this!!!!!

    Thanks for sharing it.

I usually read a fantasy book and get lost in the story. Watching game of thrones always helps me too (except when someone gets thier head chopped off and put on top of a stick, oh well!)

    xx
