Water Works........... post antibiotics

I had a water infection and was given amoxicillin. I finished those last week tues/wed. Felt like things were getting back to normal. Last night I started to get burning when having a wee and this has continued today and I feel sore where my bladder is................ I am drinking loads of water today. Is it possible that I have another UTI or the last one didn't completely go. My HA is going into overdrive thinking it must be cancer as its back again, but then my rational side is saying the antibiotics made it better the first time. ARGH........

I'm not a doctor, but it definitely doesn't sound like cancer to me - much more likely a rebound of the infection. I'd get back to the doctor for more antibiotics - either more of the same or a different one.

You can also ask what you can take to help your antibiotics along. Some antibiotics work best with alkaline urine and others with acidic urine, so taking salts or drinking fruit juice may help.
