hemorrhoids with blood clot? (Hope you can help)

I'm actually really worried.

I've had piles on and off and feel like ones has come back but it's a bit bigger than normal and feels tender when touched. I've just read about blood clots with hemorrhoids so I'm totally petrified now!

Are these clots real bad news? I've read that the clot disolves on it's own?

I've had haemorrhoids since the birth of my daughter 29 years ago. Sometimes they bleed when I pass stools, but they clot virtually instantly. I use proprietary creams to reduce them and I have had an operation once to remove external ones. It wasn't pleasant - more embarrassing than painful and the staff had seen it all before. Ask your doctor to check yours out.
