Beta blockers

I have been prescribed betablockers to take on days when I am desperate and the symptoms are too overwhelming to deal with. I don't want to take them unless absolutely necessary though.
What are peoples experiences of taking betablockers? I would be really grateful if anyone can share their experience of taking a betablocker

Taken as needed they can help reduce physical effects of anxiety. Taken only occasionally, side effects should be minimal - good luck.

Thank you! I definitely do not want to have to start taking them regularly but it's good to know they can help to reduce the physical symptoms

Useless, did nothing other than lower my heart rate, still feel the mental anxiety to the same degree. Thats just me though, they do help many others.

Propranolol is for anxiety, the rest are for Blood pressure. I've been taking one for ten or more years twice a day for BP, no side effects it does nothing for anxiety though.
