Propranolol and alcohol

My friend is upset at the moment and one way we used to always deal with things like this is to get really drunk and talk loads. However, about a month ago I was prescribed 10mg of Propranolol 3 times a day for anxiety. In the information leaflet it says to not drink alcohol and so far I haven't. She's coming over tonight and we're planning on getting drunk. Can I drink while taking propranolol? Is there a certain type of alcohol that's better to drink (normally I drink spirits like vodka)? I really need help because I don't want to start drinking and then convince myself I'm going to die because the leaflet said not to. Any advice/information would be helpful

Your asking can you drink alcohol when you have already read it says do not drink that should answer your question x

I know what the leaflet says, but I've heard that other people have and I just wanted to get some more information other than yes or no x

No you shouldnt drink alcohol with propranolol x

I used to take propranolol years ago and my GP said I could drink alcohol as long as I wasn't taking my tablets with the drink!

I take the instant release ones now and I do drink wine at the weekends. I find that I feel drunk quicker. Not that I drink a lot. If you're in doubt ring your local pharmacist for advice.

My pharmacist advised drinking in moderation is okay but if this is your first time and you do get advice that it's okay to drink, drink slowly so you know how it affects you, if at all.
