Ssri + nri

Hi I'm just wondering if anyone has any experiences with sticking with a current ssri and instead of switching completely just adding an nri such as riboxotine or any others?
Are there any other combinations that can be taken along with an ssri?
I'm on fluoxetine and although it's having positive effects when I manage to relax (very infrequently) however most of the other times I still feel quite zoned out of life really. Like a wondering ghost.

I'm not a doctor, but I've heard of people taking wellbutrin with SSRIs (buproprion I think). I don't think we have riboxitine here in the USA.

SSRIs do have a numbing effect on people. Maybe you could try a lower dose? There was a study that found that 5mg of fluoxetine was almost as effective as 20mg in treating depression at least. You could get liquid fluoxetine from your GP if you wanted to try this route.

Reboxetine seems to be poorly tolerated and not much better than placebo to be fair.

I understand how annoying it is though. I'm also on fluoxetine (and a couple of other meds) for severe anxiety/OCD and find it hard to cry. My sex drive is also non existent too...
