    Anyone else pain predominant

    Hi

I was diagnosed with anxiety in November of last year. I was anxious because of losing my father to cancer and developing abdominal pain soon after. I was very anxious and had many anxiety symptoms.

I had a colonoscopy and CT scan. No major issues, doctor said I had an irritable bowel caused by anxiety.

I am generally pretty regular but still experience pain, particularly left side under ribs. At the moment, it really only manifests at night, and I am ok during the day unless I try and swing a golf club, in which case it feels like a muscle has been pulled.

Is anyone else in the same boat, ie pain but fairly regular?

I have this pain. Nothing too serious but still there. I feel it at work when I start moving around alot. Feels like a muscle under my left rib. Im seeing a GI specialist wed. You are good youve had a clean colonoscopy and a ct. Ive been stressing on colon cancer lately so hopefully its all in my head and I can put this bs behind me lol.

    HI 56Degree

I'm so sorry to hear about your father, i have also been diagnosed with IBS and mine is also pain predominant.

The striking thing is that mine also started after my mum was diagnosed with gallbladder cancer.

My GP told me that IBS goes hand in hand with anxiety which makes perfect sense seeing as mine kicked in at the most awful time in my life.

I do get the pain, mine is mainly very low down in my abdomen, its not every day that i suffer but i find at stressful times or when im focused on it the symptoms become worse. For me it kicks in around my mums scan dates, stress at home etc.

    Hi Cariad1

Thanks for sharing your story. sorry to hear about your mum too. I was always an anxious person but never had physical symptoms until after dad died. The human mind is a strange thing. Just have to learn to take control of it I suppose. best wishes for you and your mum.
