Citalopram vs. Escitalopram Sexual side effects

Hello there,
I've recently tapered off my 15 mg dosage of Citalopram.
So far it has been a few months, and I feel as though I should go back on a depression/anxiety medication.
One of my main motivations to discontinue this drug was the inability to orgasm during sex. I found it stressful and frustrating, and it didn't make me feel too good about myself.

Recently, I went to a doctor and was prescribed a 10mg dosage of Escitalopram.
I was told this drug is consists of the active ingredient in Citalopram, and was a similar form of medication.

My main question is, Is it likely I will experience the same sexual dysfunction on Escitalopram as I did on Citalopram?

Unfortunately I don't think there is any way to find out until you try it. But from reading previous posts on this forum over the last 3 years, I can see that some people who couldn't tolerate citalopram due to side effects had better luck on escitalopram. So I'd say it's definitely worth a try.

I am on Citalopram and all is okay (speaking as a man) but when i was on seroxat it was a nightmare only by trying will you know what works for you.
