New Member - Panic and Anxiety

    Hi All

I found the site after googling 'ectopic heartbeats' and within a few minutes had learned more about what my brain and body have been doing to me than in a number of visits to the doctor and to A&E. A&E and doctor's advice has of course been spot on, but I have not until now understood why.

I've always (with hindsight) been 'anxious' to a greater or lesser degree, but a specific event some years ago has led my anxiety and panic developing into a number of symptoms.

I feel very humble in many ways, as so many of the posts that I have already read are from people who are suffering much more than me, and who have put my occasional heart flutters into a better perspective.

I will go through the site and forums in more detail and will post on some of them in time - in the meantime thank you all for the help already received.

Hi Simon, sounds pretty similar to how I found out. Numerous trips to A&E and not one mention that it could be panic attacks/anxiety. I was convinced it was a heart attack and couldn't understand why they kept sending me home. Must admit it took me a long time to accept it, and here I am 2 years later and coping much better. I still get ectopics, bit of tingling and breathlessness at the worst, but most of the time I'm fine. It just took me a long time to find out for myself that these symptoms cannot hurt me, they are just a pain in the ass!

Hope you enjoy the site and welcome on board.

    Les, xx
