Coming off zoloft after 3 weeks

Hi everyone

I was recently prescribed 25mg of zoloft for some mild anxiety that had recently developed. I was on the medication for about 3 weeks, and although it helped with my overall anxiety, it also zapped my emotions, and made me feel spacey and flat. Due to these sensations, my doctor and psychiatrist agreed that I could come off the medication cold turkey, since I wasn't on it that long/I was on such a low dose. I've been off the medication for 6 days so far, and have had the usual withdrawal symptoms such as insomnia and headaches. However, the emotionless sensation still hasn't subsided. I am able to cry, laugh, and smile; however, all of these seemed to be dulled, and my brain doesn't seem to register these sensations.

I was just wondering how long this side effect would last, and if anyone else has experienced this? I know it's not from the anxiety/depression, since I didn't have this empty/emotionless sensation prior to the medication.

I'm surprised your doctor said to stop taking them so soon?
3 weeks is not long enough by far to see an improvement and 25mg is a very low start up dose! Most start on 50mg and work up to a dose that best suits them?

Most medication of this kind make you feel empty and numb at least for the first few months. I feel you definitely haven't given Sertraline chance though.
And what you are feeling now is just withdrawal side effects.
