Ear/throat pain for months

I'm new on here I'm hoping somebody has experienced similar symptoms and can offer a little reassurance

I have ear pain and sore scratchy throat, for over 8 weeks no infection. It's not constant but most of the time I've been GP tried nasal sprays, antihistamine now gastro resistance medication nothing has helped.

I made the mistake of googling and I'm scared it may be throat cancer, I've been referred to ENT but the wait is over 2 months and I reckon I'll be a complete neurotic by then!

I've recently noticed stuff getting stuck in throat like tablets, is this another symptom or is it in my mind since I googled!?!?

Not sleeping well and prob not great to live with at the moment I'm so distracted ... Can all this be anxiety?

Can anybody offer advice??

Just replied to someones elses post about this .

I,ve had a sore / dry scrathcy throat on and off for 5 years .

The first time was 7 months of it and no one knew what it was , it was silent reflux which meds sorted out ( eventually )

Had the ear pain as well , my DR said its "referred" pain from the throat .

Had a bout of it again this year for 4 months it was post nasal drop caused by blood pressure meds .

A scratchy throat is not a sign of "C" , nor is trouble swallowing if you are anxious your throat muscles can tighten up , mine did and i felt as though food was getting stuck it was awefull but only anxiety through the throat worry !

Two month wait , if the DR thought it was urgent (which it is not ) you would have been fast tracked .

Knowing what i know now i would never had worried but we do

BTW......The gastro meds are not instant as the throat is very sensitive so it takes a few weeks at least to feel better .

A gargle with warm salt water really helps take the soreness away and really helped to sort me out .
