is there any point going bk to see gp

So iv had health anxiety since i can remember however iv never been this bad. Iv convinced myself the past three years that iv got a soft tissue sarcoma because of an abdominal lump i have which is located where my underwire is.

over the years iv seen several gps a breast specialist a sarcoma specialist and had 4 ultrasounds. Each person can feel the lump approx 1cm moves a little feels smooth but nothing appears on ultrasound. Iv been told poss lobulated fat.

iv convinced myself something has been missed. Iv also convinced myself today it feels bigger but mum says its in my head. I feel like i need to see gp but i know what the outcome will be. Im feeling so down again worrying iv got cancer.

any advice anyone got a soft tissue lump been in same situation

    Hi Emma

Have you had any help for your health anxiety?

You've not only seen several GP's but you've also seen a breast specialist and a sarcoma specialist and had 4 ultrasounds. I think it's safe to say none of these people have missed anything.

They've spent years in medical school and have all reached the same agreement. You need to listen to them and not your health anxiety.

Iv got an intensive cbt course end of oct its two weeks im hoping this helps me. I concentrate too much on horror stories of things being missed and i dont believe lumps in the body can just be benign i dont know why. Doesnt help that no one i know has any benign lumps in their bodies. I feel awful worrying everyday when i know iv been told im ok and theres people out there actually dying

I have benign lumps hun. I have one in my leg and a benign lymph node in my neck. Most people will have, they just don't give them the focus we do. Xx

I have a large mass in my lower back, small lumps on my shin, in my right arm pit, 4 in my neck, and one in my groin.

Had them for years. Were they worrying at first, sure - but I'm living proof that lumps (pea to golf ball size) can exist and not mean anything serious. I've been told they are lipomas, which are fat deposits. You just have to trust that your Dr's have seen this many many times and know what they're talking about.

    Good luck with the CBT!
