Gabapentin?

Hello-
I was recently prescribed Gabapentin(Neurontin) 100mg 3x day for chronic headache ive had for a few months, I know this is the Lyrica forum but from what I've read the two are similar.

Has anyone here taken this and if so did it help you with headache or other pain? If it helped you did you get immediate relief or did it take time?

Hi Go,

Gabapentin is a precursor drug to Pregabalin. I have read that it is less sophisticated in operation, though I gather can be effective. It is off patent now I think so miles cheaper than Pregabalin, so may be preferred by NHS etc.

I've never taken it so cant comment personally on effectiveness for headaches or anything else I'm afraid, though I'm sure others may be able to.
