Dudley Moore: Do you feel you've learnt by your mistakes here?
Peter Cook: I think I have, yes, and I think I can probably repeat them almost perfectly.
OK here is my reasoning for the rating...
Montage of Heck was endorsed by Courtney Love and her daughter. It's very biased. It's a decent documentary, but it totally depicts Kurt Cobain in a depressed/suicidal way, whereas the other two documentaries (Kurt and Courtey, Soaked in Bleach) which were made independently without her prior approval, question how "suicidal" he actually was. Personally, I think Courtney Love is a manipulative, evil person, and I think it's very possible she was somehow involved in orchestrating his death. I know it's a conspiracy theory, but I've totally bought into it after listening to the evidence.
I strongly recommend watching all three back to back. It's very interesting how different the two are from Montage of Heck.
I'd love to hear your interpretation, messaninedoor! Please don't let my opinion spoil the movie for you!
