I have been put on nitrofurantoin this morning for a urine infection... took first one just now, feeling really anxious of side affects as I have had some with other antibiotics in the past... my anxiety is high and im trying not to think about them and be brave! but because I have other health issues going on it not easy :-( I feel very alone as my family don't understand and tell me to grow up and stop being so stupid. :-(

Hi susierose, I was prescribed these for a UTI and like yourself was anxious to take them. I am very scared of any new medication. I took the course and was fine. Try and think what good they are doing you. They will get rid of your UTI and help you to feel better. You are not being stupid neither, it's hard for non sufferers of anxiety to relate that's all.
