Diagnosis: ADHD (Combined Type) with GAD. Had Post Concussive Syndrome, as well as Occipital Neuralgia and IBS. Recovered from PCS in May 2013. Diagnosed with a kidney disease called Gitelman Syndrome in November 2015.
On natural remedies currently.
L-tryptophan and magnesium glycinate
Also taking: potassium chloride er

Hi I'm on day 5 of Sert and started a thread on the Sertaline page when was on day 3 as I have struggled with the start up symptoms. I 've mainly had nausea; headaches and spells where I felt really down but these like your side effects are all on the list of expected effects. It seems we will feel worse before better. I was on a different AD years ago and these problems do wear off -for most at the 2week point. Good luck

Yes when I first started on it I had all of those, especially the mood swings. Almost felt like quitting them but pushed on after my doctor encouraged me to stay on them a bit longer. After a few weeks these effects should lessen and then will mostly disappear (I occasionally still have the mood swings). Good luck!

Thank you everyone, I am on week 2, and it's been hard :(, should I get my doc to prescribe me a benzo so I can get back on my feet till the med kicks in?
