The Famous Five (1978) - on BritBox.
I came over all nostalgic watching this because I was 8 years old when this came out!
Characters
Anne (the girly one)
Julian (the brainy one)
Dick (the cheeky one - and there are plenty of dicks in Enid Blyton books. Also fanny's)
George (the one I most identified with)
Timmy the dog (the one with the acting skills)
Plots
Kidnappings, being held at gunpoint, secret caves - strange old blokes inviting the kids to his house for tea. Standard Blyton.
This version was made in 1978 so there isn't a mobile phone, laptop, or gaming console to be seen -just some bikes, questionable 70s fashion, and some dubious acting (except for Timmy, who was probably RADA trained).
That said, they do look like they're genuinely enjoying themselves?
I was very sad to discover that Michelle Galagher (George) died in 2000 and Toddy (Timmy) died shortly after filming the series.

The news ... ugh :(
Bad Education
I love Jack Whitehall and I love this show - even if it is set in school (shudders)
Alfie: Chantelle, haven't you got a class to be preparing for?
Chantelle: Maths, we're doing fractions. Apparently 23 won't go into 15, Mrs Molinson says it's impossible, we'll see about that.
