I watched The Thief, his Wife and a Canoe - unbelievable true story, so well acted, really enjoyed it.

Classic tv - Ever Decreasing Circles and Butterflies

Easter's episode of Dr Who was it's usual disappointment,a lot of noise, mainly coming from the doctor, poor content, bad script, bad jokes, too political and a bore.

Gentlemen Jack, I used to enjoy, this series, not so much, held together by Suranne Jones and the music.

BGT, lost its spark this series. Seems staged, pre-picked, repetitive acts and very little variety.

Re: What TV shows are you watching right now?

I just tackled Kate Atkinson's Life after Life..

If you could live your life time and time again, would you ever get it right?

    Knowing my luck, no.

I like the concept and I loved the atmosphere, but I may have to watch it back a few times to fully grasp what's what?

I've just read another of her books on the back of watching this series and it's good too except for one line that's bothering me, and so much that I intend to contact the author!

    Derry Girls - Series 3.

As hilarious as series one and two. I love Sister George Michael..

Still believable as being of school age despite their real ages being late twenties and early to mid thirties. The actress who plays Clare is 35. But it worked in Grease, right? Olivia Newton John was 73 (joke) when she played Sandy and she did Ok.

Also revisited - Carla Lane's Bread (the original Joey) and Butterflies.

Also watching Mike Leigh films. I started watching Life is Sweet before I went on holiday. I like Mike Leigh films, I love the music and they fascinate me in how mundane they are (but I liked The Royle Family for the same reason) and I could watch Jim Broadbent in anything - he's like a heated blanket on a cold day..

Also watching Mrs Brown's Boys (and every night, for the last 4 months)

I have to ask....Which line is bothering you re the Kate Atkinson novel? I've read most of her books including the Jackson Brodie series which I think you'd enjoy.

Also have a go at Behind The Scenes At The Museum...?

Couldn’t agree more about BGT…..it’s all very samey. I don’t think Britains got any talent left. I’m fed up of dance groups, magicians etc. I liked the awful ones but they don’t show many of them anymore. You know as soon as they come on they are going to get through. It used to be good Saturday night telly but I find musekf flipping through tik tok

Thr new series of Better Call Saul has started so I’m watching that. It’s a sort of prequel to Breaking Bad. If you liked BB, you’ll like this.

Where can you watch 'Life after Life' Nora? Anything with a title like that draws me in.
I agree about Jim Broadbent and for me, theres no part he couldn't play.
Loved Abigail's Party by Mike Leigh. Who hasn't been to a party like that, lol. Many moons ago, of course.

Never seen 'Better call Saul ' Darksky, might give that a look.

Just finished watching 'Schitts Creek' second time round. So good. Hear there might be a possibility of a 7th series Lola.

This is the book I am talking about Pulisa..

This is the sentence which bothered me..

"Perhaps my concept of love - as wide as the sky - isn't big enough to encompass Bunty's autistic mothering."

Obviously you've read the book so you know what kind of mother Bunty is. As you know, I'm autistic. My 'mothering' is nothing like Bunty's. I have a very loving relationship with my kids. I believe my own mother was autistic and she was no 'Bunty' either. Taking her character into consideration, the use of 'autistic' in respect to being a mother implies that autistic mothers are bad mothers. I found this upsetting - which is a shame as I enjoyed the book other than this!
