Gilmore Girls on netflix
Just for reflection, and it seems to sit in this post as a good home for it, the golden globes seem to have delivered a real qualitative set of nominations for TV shows in the USA. Genre shows getting as many nods as procedurals , tent pole dramas and the comedy nominations coming from other than the main networks as well.
Nominations that I’m pretty pleased about, in that I think of them as quality TV are Stranger Things, Game of Thrones, Westworld, Veep, Transparent, Black-ish ………. I think the streaming services are growing TV up, arc’d seasons are informing the creation of the new Star Trek series which will be an arc over 13 episodes not episodic like Trek of old. That sounds like good thinking, most succesful Tv in recent years has had an arc underpinning standalone episodes, such as Elementary, Blacklist and Doctor Who.

Peter Cook: I think I have, yes, and I think I can probably repeat them almost perfectly.
Rillington Place. Tim Roth gives me the creeps, very good performance though.
