Isn't Pregabalin meant to go generic this year? I'm sure i read it somewhere that it is in Europe. Once it does, i reckon it will be used as a 1st line treatment for anxiety sufferers

It's already went generic.. my psych switched me from Lyrica a month or so ago.
There's been stories about not being as good as Lyrica but I haven't noticed a difference.

is it much cheaper now its generic?
Aye much much cheaper than Pfizer were charging

so hopefully, this could become the drug of choice for GAD?
It's quite possible.

Hi Shiznit76,
Yes, I'm taking it for GAD. Generics must have identical active ingredients as the original - by law. And I agree with Albert that it should be a higher ranked choice of medications for GAD than antidepressants because (1) it has a better response rate than antidepressants, which are mostly hit or miss, (2) it works faster, and (3) its start-up side effects are more tolerable.

3rd day of taking it today and I'm probably the same as yesterday. Haven't noticed anymore improvement. I'm actually going to a football match today which I'm nervous about as I'm still really really tired and have bags under my eyes and I'm worried about panicking whilst there or losing control. Again, haven't noticed any side effects. Hoping this kicks in properly soon. Also doing a bit of CBT alongside this
Are you playing football or watching?
Watching it. Ended up going and my anxiety went considerably down once i got in the stadium. Feel pretty good as that's the first time I've been able to go since my 'breakdown' a few months back. The standard of football was terrible though and we lost so not all good haha
