    Very dry mouth....thinking about swallowing

    Dear All,

I'm 16, and yesterday, I swallowed some saliva, and now, guess what, I'm swallowing more often and can't get that thought out of my head. This is causing me to have a very very dry mouth.

I've read some posts, and most say it's down to anxiety. I feel that this is definitely not the case. I'm a happy 16 year old, no history of depression or anxiety ever before....it's just that this is starting to get me down a little and annoyed.

NB: I am drinking even more water than ever before.

Is this a thought that'll pass in a few days?

    Any ideas/suggestions?
    Cheers, Callum.

Your body is constantly doing things, most of which you usually don't notice. Try it: think about, I dunno, your legs. Focus on them. Can you feel something, a muscle spasm, a minor itch, a random pain? Probably. But because you chose to focus on it. Normally you wouldn't think twice about something like saliva, but for whatever reason you have focused on it and now you are hypersensitive to the saliva production. You're just aware of your bodily functions. You are gonna be a-okay. Also, stop swallowing so much, that's only gonna exacerbate the dryness.
