I think my GF has read some of those and said they were good. I remember seeing one in paperback a couple of years ago and thinking it looked a good read.

    This might make you smile.

Currently reading 'Be a great Stand Up' by Logan McRae

..... as Im writing a stand up routine, first time, for a Cabaret in early May. Its come out of the Improv classes I've been doing for the last 6 months. I'm really enjoying playing with humour and trying to find stuff that amuses me & hopefully will amuse others.

    Re: Reading

The Long Earth by Terry Pratchett and Stephen Baxter.

Now onto The Long War by the same collaboration.

I've read one of Baxter's prior to this, Proxima, a book which seemed to leave a load of holes in it at the end which might be because of sequels? Pratchett's humour is in there but it's dampened down from his Discworld writing.

Yes, I find them really good. Lots of character depth and they keep a good pace. There is also some live ship stuff in them.
