Peter Cook: I think I have, yes, and I think I can probably repeat them almost perfectly.

It’s very hard isn’t it. I find that my mental health is so much better when I’ve got a good book.
I like to re-read books that I’ve loved, that often helps.
I recently discovered that if you are an amazon customer and an audible customer that every time you download a kindle book you can get the audiobook at a discount. They sync together so that when you stop listening to the audio book, the kindle will find your place and vice verse. To me this is genius, and helped me to get back into a book.
I don’t know the answer either really, maybe someone else will?

I like the idea of re-reading a book Ive loved.
I'll try that I think. See if that works.
I rarely revisit books because I have so many I want to read.
Yeah, I think I had a book that was a chore and its sat there unfinished. Normally I speed read to finish a book Im not into.

I always use my 100 page rule. If I still hate it after 100 pages I ditch it. I’ve persevered with some books which didn’t grab me initially which have turned out to be good ones, but after 100 pages..no.
Life is too short and there are too many great books out there.
100 pages is very generous, I give it a chapter or two...

Me too! I agree with you, Scass about how reading an absorbing book can be really helpful for mental health. I suppose it's all about escapism and distraction?
In the past I have tended to speed read books that I didnt like
Im still struggling to get back into my reading though

Im managing almost to re-read Tolkein 'The Hobbit' , loving it, but its still slow going :/

The Hobbit is quite a slow book considering its size. You could always skip the chapters that are a bit boring...
Have you tried audio books?
