Hi N. - Some comments on the Breitbart article on Trump's drug policy presentation.

First, it only gives Trump's point of view, so it's more like a press release from Trump than a news article. Compare with this Reuter's article, which is around the same length, but also gives comments from two other sources and also a note on the effect on Narcan shares:

Second, I suspect that the audience was carefully chosen, but I can see only two red caps in a group of over fifty, so the statement that many people were wearing red caps might be a bit of Trumpian hyperbole.

It seems that the conspiracy theorists love "false flag" attacks. My point is, if all these attacks are really false flags, where are the genuine attacks?

There are genuine attacks but they don't get the 24/7 rolling coverage in the MSM because it doesn't serve the interests of those who control the media. Chemical weapons were used by US troops in Iraq, a lot of children in Fallujah are born with birth defects because of that. Israel used white phosphorus in Gaza, real images of that attack have never been shown on TV and videos are being taken off YouTube because they're too "graphic".

I'm not easily shocked or disturbed but some of the horrors (war crimes) being perpetrated in Syria (and Iraq) are beyond barbaric - and not appropriate for an anxiety forum TBH. Needless to say, you have to search foreign non-English media channels to see these vids or "news".

I certainly don't think such atrocities are "false flags" or conspiracies. These attacks are real and involve real people.

I can't say I would want to watch uploaded vids of chemical attacks. Willy Pete's are not going to be easy to process if soldiers are struggling with PTSD after seeing horrific things.

Sadly, some even on here have witnessed atrocities though. I've known one person who's PTSD was the result of family deaths in the Middle East. That person would know a lot more than any of us about the horrors as they have been there. I doubt that's the only person on here and I bet the anxiety rates are high in refugees (those in Australia are struggling in those camps).

Quite right they are taken down from places like YouTube. Those places are used to brag about atrocities too. But those filming them do need a way to get the message out that such terrible things are going on. We can read the reports, see the still images, we don't need to see people suffering on video to become informed about it. The same as many a graphic crime. Besides, the internet can be a place of very strange people circulating this stuff to deride it, enjoy it or otherwise degrade real suffering. I would much prefer regulated journalism tackle this than some Facebook clowns circulating suffering with memes to laugh at it.

If the US used chemical weapons against people in Iraq, that would be against UN conventions, and the cover-up would be a true conspiracy involving many people at multiple levels. My feeling is that this is unlikely. The real horror is that so-called conventional weapons used or supplied by the US and other western powers are responsible for killing or maiming thousands of innocents in the Middle East.

White phosphorus munitions have been used in all major conflicts since World War I. I'm not saying that justifies their use.

(I am aware that the US used agent orange during the Vietnam War, but it was not used as a chemical weapon against people, rather as a defoliant to strip trees of their leaves. Only later did effects on people and unborn children become apparent).
