    Update

Hi all, some of you may remember that I dealt with the worst health anxiety last year. I kept getting many different weird physical symptoms that really made me believe that something was terribly wrong with me. I would look at everyone else and just WISH I could live my life the way they were living, care free. I had a hard time getting out of bed each morning, without having lorazepam on hand. It got to be too much for me and I realized I needed to seek help which is exactly what I did. I was totally against being put on meds, but I can tell you that it has been such a big help for me.

    Brain tumor fears
    Aneurysm fears
    Seizure fears
    Passing out fears
    Heart fears

    ALL GONE!

I went to the hospital twice last year and had many doctor's visits to figure out why I was having palpitations (extra heart beats.) I would have them days on end, weeks on end, they drove me crazy! They even heard them and caught them on an EKG but said they weren't significant. They told me to exercise and try and reduce my stress. Yeah, okay, easy for them to say. I just couldn't understand how anxiety could attribute to such horrible things such as an arrhythmia! What I failed to realize is that a lot of my anxiety was attributed to my mom's passing the year before. I actually just read an article the other day about how studies show that the passing of a loved one can actually cause arrhythmias. I truly believe this to be true. I had a broken heart!

Now, I have gone an entire month without a single one Duration of them has reduced significantly and it's not the number one thing on my mind anymore. I have started exercising daily and watching what I eat. Exercising was so scary for me but I have been doing it with no issues and it is such an amazing feeling to be able to get over such a hump! Something so simple as working out has brought me so much joy because I can do it, something I never imagined myself doing again.

It took months for my meds to help me....which was a huge bummer. Some days I just wanted to throw in the towel, but I am so glad I didn't! Not only have I risen over my health anxiety, I have also found myself to be more of a go getter than I was before. I am more confident in myself. I have big plans that I want to conquer. Before, I felt like such a lost, small, human being in this big world. Now, I am following my dreams and I just couldn't be any happier!

Anyone that is struggling out there, please seek help and know that it is possible to feel 100% again! I don't think I could have done it without seeking help.

Anxiety and it's physical symptoms are real, but you DON'T have to let it control you.

    Zoloft-100mg daily
Propranolol-10mg daily. Cut back from 20mg twice daily because of some side effects but the little dose helps bring down my heart rate.
