    Lower dose of propanalol

Hi I was on 80mg of propanalol but about 2 weeks ago my dose got lowered to 40mg an now I'm in a lot of pain with back neck shoulders arms and legs! I was just wondering if lowering the dose could be causing all this pain? As any body else gone through this? Thanks

    Re: Lower dose of propanalol

Propanalol is a beta blocker which is used to lower blood pressure; however, it is also regularly prescribed to those who suffer anxiety and specifically panic attacks, because it helps slow the heart. I suffered very bad panic attacks 10 years ago, which recurred again last year and on each occasion the GP prescribed Propanalol - 3 x 40 mg daily.

I reduced the dose some weeks ago and now only take one each morning and I certainly have not had aching muscles or pains such as you describe. I suspect it is highly unlikely to be the Propanalol which is causing you the problems. However, if it continues and you are concerned then you should follow up with your GP.

    Good luck.
