First Time Sertraline

Hello all,

I have just been prescribed Sertraline today for my GAD and low mood and I'm a little apprehensive. I am hoping it improves and gives me my life back.

Was just hoping for some words of reassurance because I have read horror stories about side effects so I hope I can handle them 😊

The one thing I wish I had avoided was reading every post on here. Yes some are positive as these users continue to help other be experience share. However the majority of people for whom the tablet works for get in with there life's and no longer use the forum.

Don't be disheartened by what you read. It's a good drug and will HELP you every time you take it.

Is it your first time using and sort of mediation for GAD?

Hi Arran,

Yes I have never taken any medication before so I guess I'm worried it might make me worse. I know I shouldn't read things but by nature we do!

So so far I've just got bubbly nausea and I am struggling to sleep. This normal?

Yes totally normal, it will pass. I was only getting a couple of hours sleep a night but strangely wasnt tired!! It gradually improves over time.

It's knocked me for six I feel like a zombie at the moment! Ugh

Ok need some reassurance! 6 days in and I feel like a zombie. I am also having really bad nausea I thought I was going to be sick earlier!

Am I normal here?

Yes all totally normal. Disrupted sleep happened to me as well, especially at the beginning. You will feel like a zombie due to not sleeping anyway. This is all completely normal and it will pass. Give it time.
