I want to write a book

I want to write a book about a person with OCD and they're struggle to get over it. But i dont know much about OCD... so would anyone like to help me? anyone with OCD just get back to me telling me ALL about it and everything you feel, and anything you do on impulse. stuff like that. thank you.

It is not easy to just write a book I am afraid.

You really need to do loads and loads of research online and you could start with specific OCD websites - see the links page for some I recommend.

Good luck with it but I think you have quite a big job on your hands there if you are not really familiar with the illness in the first place.

yea, i know about all that but i'm good at winging it.. im just after experience and i'll fill in all the blanks when that time comes

Ok well in that case you will be better registering with the OCD specific websites and seeing if they can help cos we don't get that many OCD sufferers in here.

winging it wont make me buy ur book im afraid! i have lived with the hell that is ocd for too long now and i find it insulting to find you are gonna write a book on ocd and u r gonna wing it!

I have OCD but would only buy a book written by a sufferer who has recovered or an expert in the field.

Why choose OCD when you have no personal experirence?

maybe story?
and ACTUALLY think i expect it to be a book???
and im SORRY that i think its interesting, all this stuff interests me
i write books about a whole bunch of topics and i do it for ME and i was just asking and maybe a little SUPPORT would be nice

Why don't you write articles for websites rather than books.

I didn't mean it as a personal attack. It's just that suffering from OCD is very distressing, as is any mental or emotional illness, and your post hit a raw nerve.

Writing something for the website is a good idea.
